Oscar 2013 nominations will be announced in Jan 10. I will revisit this topic after the announcement. There are a few movies that I am looking forward to watch.

The Life of Pi has amazing poetic visual images. If you freeze the frames, many of the shots can be a postcard. I was so surprised to find out that even the zebra, hyena and orangutan were all CGI. This is an website to understand how the superb visual effects were made. The shots of the whale and the mysterious islands are fascinating. The protagonist has good acting and imagination as the animals were added in post-production. Overall speaking, I enjoyed the movie. But I guess reading the book would let me have deeper thoughts.
